材料 - Ingredients:
4 個 ea 紅蘋果 Red apples 
30g 山楂 Hawthorn
34g 冰糖 (可略) Rock Sugar (Optional) 
3000 ml 清水 water

做法 - Method:
1. 紅蘋果用鹽擦;
   Clean apple with coarse salt;

2. 一開2, 去枝去核留皮;
   Cut into 2, remove the core, keep the skin;
  
3. 山楂沖水;
   Wash the Hawthorn;

4. 準備湯鍋, 倒入清水, 加入山楂 和 紅蘋果, 開大火, 不蓋煲蓋,
   Prepare a soup pot, pour in water, and add apples and Hawthorn in water turn to high heat, no need cover a lid;

5. 水沸騰後轉中小火;
   Turn to med-low heat after boiling;
 
6. 1小時 25分鐘 加入冰糖;
   Add rock sugar after 1hr and 25min

7. 冰糖融化後, 關火。
   After the rock sugar melted, turn off the heat.

山楂又名紅果、山裡紅、棠棣子,是薔薇科山楂屬多年生木本植物、山裡紅所結的成熟果實。

原產於北半球温带地區,野生多,在亞洲、北美洲、歐洲有許多品種﹔
山楂在中國被栽培己超過三千年,中國主要有兩類 : 南山楂、北山楂,再细分之下有三十多個品種,如 : 酸楂、山里红、脂果等等。
藥用為主是南山楂,因為果小,味酸澀﹔北山楂則果大,氣味香,酸甜適中。

山楂樹適應性强,耐旱耐澇,耐瘠薄,生活良好在中性或弱酸性土壤中,較少病蟲害,就算多年不打理,亦能维持較好的景觀。
